Dragon Quest IX Guide Side quest(61-70)
61. Mager Migraine
Location: well near bowhole (need ability to fly)
Progress:
(+) Talk with the king inside well
(+) He will ask you to get Hexite from Shogum
(+) Take treasure chest inside prison before you leave this place (2000 Gold, Gold bar, Spellspadrilles)
(+) You can find Shogum in low level grotto (about 10 -20) as a grotto boss
(+) Give the king the hexite once you get it
(+) You will get Lucida shard as a reward
62. Brian’s Dyin’ wish
Location: Cringle coast (need ability to fly)
Progress:
(+) Check the bone inside small cave
(+) He will ask you to get piece of paper from salamarauder
(+) Grab ruionous shield from treasure chest before leave
(+) Now go to Twyll cave (L2) to find Salamarauder (L2)
(+) Kill it until you got Larst later
(+) Return to the cave and read the letter for the skeletons
(+) You will get Baramos Map Level 1
63. keep your eyes peeled
Location: swinedimples church
Progress:
(+) Make sure you have character with level 30 in sword skill
(+) Talk with the man inside church
(+) He will ask you to find red signpost
(+) You can find red signpost on east island from bowhole
(+) Read back side of the signboard to obtain the message
(+) Return and talk with the man to obtain Warrior’s sword
64. Turn in Your Badges
Location: Same as quest 63
Progress:
(+) Make sure you have character with level 100 in in sword skill
(+) Talk with the same man as quest 63
(+) He will ask you to find the badge.
(+) You can know the location by reading a book on left room on Swinedimples Academy 1st area.
(+) You need to fight in world map area that described in the book in that order
(+) The order is Bloomingdale, Gleeba, Angel falls, Coffinwell, and Swinedimples
(+) Once you get all the badge return to swinedimples church
(+) Give it to him and you will get “ Swordcraft in summary” (able to use gigagash)

Need help with Quest 65. How can I defeat the 3 Metal Meddlys without them running away with just Pressure Pointer??? Pressure Pointer doesn’t do much damage do them!
I haven’t do them so i can’t give you any tips
i knw im a bit late but
pressure pointer can some thimes kill in one go so as long as th metal medley dosent run use it and some times it may be an automatic death but i havn’t done the quest either so i might be wrong
oh, and you might want to find a way to up your agility…
maybe use a meteorite bracer or an agility ring?
Voi I did that quest and pressure pointer insta kills them so I just have to make sure they don’t run away

nope, every time you defeat legacy boss you get a choice to level up them or to use experience for yourself. If you choose to level up them, then they will become stronger. The difficulty is relative depends on boss level.
We’re so I go to find baramos map I did the quest but I don’t know the location of the grotto
I’ve done both knife quests, so here they are:
67.Nab the Knife-Nicker(need 30+ knife skill)
Location:Big woman in Swinedimples dining room or whatever that is(the building on the right)
You have to retrieve a stolen knife for her.To do that, go outside and fight a shivery shrubbery. You have to put it to sleep first and then kill it with toxic dagger.
Reward: Icicle Dirk
Note:You don’t have to poison it, just kill it with the damage that toxic dagger does.
68.Spice up your Knife(need 100 knife skill)
Location: same as quest 67
Here you have to poison 10 bad karmours(they can be found in the basement of Gittingham Palace) with toxic dagger and then kill them with victimiser.
Reward: Scroll “Knifing Know-How”(You can use Persecutter, which does high damage to sleeping or confused enemies)
Note: Here, the enemies HAVE TO become poisoned.
Forgot this one:
70.Look, Back in Anger(need 100 wand skill)
Location:Same as quest 69
Itchy wants you to get some medicine for his back.First, talk to Fanny, the Fan trainer inside Swinedimples. Then you have to get some toad oil and molten magma.
Toad oil is dropped by many toad-like enemies. Molten magma is harder to find.
You have to get to the Magmaroo and kill live lavas untill you get it. It can’t be stolen, just keep killing them till they drop it.
Reward:Scroll “Wands and Beyond”(You can use Zing Stick, which does the same as the spell Zing)

you scratch my back…
NOTE: requires 30 stats in the wand stat tree.
Located in swinedimples academy, outside by the west building wall. (He’s and old dude
)
1) he will ask you for a backscratcher
2)go to slurry quay (daytime) and talk to the dude outside next to the items merchant (he’s in purple robes).
3) then go to twyll cave and go to the first floor, but i went up the path to the spot with the red chest in it (other room from the main room, but still haven’t exited the room I entered).
4) find and kill salamrauders till you get a backscratcher.
5)go back to itchy (the old man) and get a brouhaha broomstick.

in quest 64 you are able to use gigagash not gigaslash

Operation Mercury
Have 30 points in spear skill. Go to swinedimples talk to lance. Go to bad cave. Use Pressure pointer to kill 3 metal medleys. Return to lance to get halberd.

zoom to stornway, then walk to your ship. Then you sail west, along the river until you reach an island surrounded by water. Check the whole island (it’s tiny, don’t worry!) and when you find the signpost, read the front. Then you have to read the BACK. Don’t forget to read the back! Then return to Marco.
It is by the blowhole but u have to read the back of the sign
