Dragon Quest IX Guide Vocation skill tree

There are 12 jobs in this game but the last one is little hard to get (I haven’t got it :D ). So I create this tips based on 11 vocations. The tips:

  1. Decide what class you want to focus.
  2. Level up other jobs until you reach level 24. For leveling tips see here
  3. By doing that you will get 52 skill points.
  4. This means easy 520 skill points (52 x 10 jobs).
  5. For your main class, you don’t need to worry since you will use this class as much as you want (you will get about 100 skill point when you reach level 38).
  6. So at level 38 you should have total 620 skill point.
  7. Spend it carefully, so you can focus train 1 super strong vocation. :D

My role/class/job building tips
Scroll down to find vocation skill tree

Physcical attacker build (best job for this role: Gladiator or warrior):

(+) 100 on weapon of your choice
(+) 90 on Courage (warrior) to get big bonus at HP, Strength, defence
(+) 32 on acquisitiveness (thief) to get max HP +20
(+) 42 on Focus (martial arts) to get max HP +30, 100 if you want speedy character
(+) 22 on Fource (armamentalist) to get natural resilience +20 (it is too much to get HP+30 for 100 skill point) :D
(+) 82 on Guts (gladiator) to get Max Hp +30 (there is many strength and Hp bonus before you reach 82 so it is really worthy to spend 82 point in this tree.
(+) 100 on Virtue (Paladin) this is a must for every build because more defence and HP couldn’t go wrong.

Total spent: 468 skill point
unspent skill point: 620-468=152. Distribute this skill point to your favorite skill that you think useful or add spent it on agility passive skill (martial arts).

Tank (best job for this role: Paladin)

(+) 100 on weapon of your choice
(+) 100 on shield
(+) 100 on Paladin skill tree
(+) 90 on courage (warrior) to get major defence and HP boost
(+) 42 on Focus (martial arts) to get max HP +30
(+) 22 on Fource (armamentalist) to get natural resilience +20, 100 after you completed other recommended point
(+) 82 on Guts (gladiator) to get major boost in HP
(+) 42 on ruggedness (ranger) to get natural resilience +20

Total Spent: 578 skill points
Unspent skill point: 620-578=42. Fill armamentalist skill to obtain Hp +30. Agility is kind of useless for tank because it roles to tank and forbearance always protect your parties regardless speed. If you want to make at-tanker so it can attack the enemy too, then I suggest to get more strength passive than agility.

Healer (best job: priest or sage)

(+) 100 on weapon of your choice (I recommend wand to get major MP bonus)
(+) 100 on faith (priest) it boost your MP and healing capabilities
(+) 100 on enlightenment (sage) reduce MP cost and increase healing point.
(+) 69 on Litheness (Minstrel) to boost healing capabilities
(+) 22 on Virtue (Paladin) to boost healing capabilities

Total spent: 391 skill points
Unspent skill point: 620-391=229. Distribute the rest to HP or shield skill. It is up to you to decide what is most important for your healer.

Spellcaster (best job: mage or sage)

(+) 100 on weapon of your choice (I recommend wand to get major MP bonus)
(+) 100 on spellcraft (mage), it boost your MP and Healing capabilities
(+) 100 on enlightenment (sage) reduce MP cost and increase magic damage
(+) 42 on Litheness (minstrel) to boost magical damage
(+) 68 on ruggedness (armamentalist) to increase spell damage

Total spent: 410 skill point
Unspent skill point: 210 skill point. Spend the rest of skill point to boost your agility and HP.

Use CTRL+F then type ” JST job name” to search quickly (i.e. JST mage).
Enjoy, hope it is useful. You can help me completing this guide by telling me the spell for each job you get.

  1. lightfall says:

well i liked your guide and it really helped me in some areas to plan my party, but i don’t get some of your choices in agility for particular roles.

For example, healers will need as much agility as they can get so you can heal your party members before the boss attacks, not after otherwise you are playing guessing games on who the boss is going to attack or how hard he is going to hit for (if you set the tank for taking the damage). And if you are worried about taking care of random deaths that may happen accidentally O.o then invest in a sage (with lower agility than the boss) who can role as an offhealer/damage to never fail resurrection (kazing i think) on the same turn a party member dies (when on auto mode), and the next turn the priest can heal the member before the boss gets a chance to move.

The damage roles will need either all to be highest agility as possible or lowest so that they all attack after each other without the boss cutting in between and so you don’t get the damage bonus (1.2x). This is easier to make it the lowest and if your sage is a damage dealer too then for the reasons i mentioned above, it makes a better damage output to shun agility on damage dealers, and of course the tank.

Oh and another thing i thought is why not make the tank equip the fan, this will give the option of deflecting breathe attacks (reverse cycle) which gives out amazing damage to legacy bosses who otherwise nearly kill the whole party each turn with this or just the tank who doesn’t have enough resilience yet :D instead of wielding some spear that will never get used when using forbearance constantly.

    Thoughts on this?

    • noobbgodlike says:

yeah of course they need some agility, strength, etc. But I only list their ability for the “minimum”, after you get all minimum attributes there is a ton of skill points that will be acquired in training you rmin job. Use that points to add the skill that you think you need the most.

  2. RPGFAN says:

ruggedness isnt of an armamentalist fix it on spellcaster :P

  3. mitchtheminstrel says:

im training my MC as a sage and he knows kazammle and he has the sages studies or what ever its called.

    • quinten says:

i did de ranger changer quest but i dont know how to make a ranger. on the place for making a charactar i cant make a ranger

      • Joe says:

make just a 1st class then go to alltrade’s abbey and change it’s vocation there, + make sure you have actually finished the quest (spoken to guy at the end)

  4. dq9fan says:

where is the luminary skill tree

  5. kam says:

Will passive skills like attack +30, defense +30 stay after you revocate your character?

  6. Nick says:

Ok, so I’m confused about the armentalist fource abilities, I use them and they mess with my ATK and DEF, how do I use them? Specifically for bosses.

    • Joe says:

you need to find the weakness of the boss so for baramos (eaiest legacy boss) you need to use frost fource.
and estark (hard legacy boss) you need to use furneral fource, you can look up the weakness’s of all boss’s etc.

  7. Bob says:

What’s the highest resilience that you can get?

  8. eragon says:

you should put where you got these vocations / which quests, because it took me forever to find the ranger

    • xXDestinaxeXx says:

i found the ranger quest the 2nd easiest to find next to the armamentilist wich i still need to complete cos the metel slimes always run away!!!.

  9. sidewaysj says:

I cannot find the 3rd type of troll i can only find boss trolls but not king trolls where do they reside ? this is to become a sage before i beat the game, or is that not possible?

    • noobbgodlike says:

it’s possible , I already mention the location in sage quest. If you can’t find the troll over there, I can’t do anything, really sorry :( .

      • sidewaysj says:

its ok i was doing it to the wrong type of troll lol i just dont want to me mortal yet

        • Minimega says:

This will help EVERYONE SO MUCH. Here is the thing; i didn’t finish the sage quest before i beat the game. It turns out u can actually go BACK to the Realm of the Mighty even after u beat the game. First, u need to beat quest 39 Follow that Fish to get starlings whistle. Then when u r flying in Starflight Express, land anywhere and when it says disembark, say no. Then it will ask to go to the realm of the almighty. Say yes. Then, go to the very top, in which u meat celestria. talk to her and she’ll ask if u would want to go back to the realm of the mighty. It is the exact same as when u left off, so u don’t need to find a high level grotto for the troll.
          Hope this helped:D

    • Like_un_boss says:

It not king troll it boss troll. You can always come back to Realm of Almighty when you beat Corvus.

      • mitchtheminstrel says:

ive beat corvus 3 times. every time u beat him the water goes up an when the place is fluded u find corvus knoced out. you take himto observatory and talk to aqila. u can know go to the observatory!!!!!!!!!!

    • Pie Lover says:

Actually, the quest requires you to defeat 5 GREAT trolls (The purple ones) with Frizz. I see them spawn the most in the Realm of Mighty in the place with the jail cells. I think it was like L6?
      Hope this helps. ^_^

  10. ...Yeah says:

This may not be important and it’s pretty obvious and may have already been stated in the hundreds of posts however I thought I’d share it so anyway. If someone were to have the patience and determination to get 99 in all vocations … well let’s just say that getting 99 for one vocation gets you 200 skill points. :O So yeah …

  11. ???? says:

“So at level 38 you should have total 620 skill point.”
I know where you’re getting the “520″ number 52×10=520, BUT you’re adding an additional 120 points that you earn in the main class vocation. What if those 120 points have already been allocated? If that’s the case, then your strategy wont work. Did you stockpile those 120 skill points so you could use them later and add them to the 520 you get from leveling up other vocations? I understood everything until you threw out the 620 figure.

    • ???? says:

One more question: You’re recommending to level 10 vocations 1-24 near the location north of angel falls, but this area is not accessible until you beat the game (post game), so does your whole skill tree strategy apply only to post game?

    • noobbgodlike says:

I assume you already located your first 100 points in weapon tree of your choice or your main class. Unless you do something like 50 skill on sword and 50 on knife :D ( it’s very bad, please decide what weapon you want to use in this game), so no need to save any skill point :D you can easily change the job and then distribute your skill point and then revert back.

  12. sidewaysj says:

how do i get the sage vocation and is there really 13 vocations like the other guy said

    • Nick says:

Nope, just 12: Minstrel, Sage, Paladin, Martial Artist, Warrior, Priest, Armenialist, Ranger, Gladiator, Thief, Mage, and the not-pictured Luminary, who from my friend’s guide book is like the best one.

      • Cheating,and Glitching says:

actualy there is another vocation it just is hard to find this one person had it i even seen a thing for it i once went on my game and i had all vocations and i looked it said gaurdian i didnt have AR in it might be a glitch but i did have AR in before but i started a new game by the way when you start the game your first vocation is actualy gaurdian

  13. DDQ Pro says:

lol i have already in a short time lumenary lvl 99+1 and u stil dont have? it takeing ages til ya got it its so easy

  14. Retharen says:

For anyone that’s looking for lvling tips what I did is when my hero was at least lvl 30 recruited a whole new team of worriers leveled them and put all their points in swords until they learned metal slice? What ever it’s called. Then went to the bow hole and farmed liquid metal slimes. As they leveled I put every thing into swords to get omnivocational and then switched their classes to what I wanted. I have my hero 15 minstrel 60 warrior and 38 paladin so far as well as warrior/priest warrior/thief…. Two of those actually. Makes it very easy to power lvl by killing the slimes because they can all use the metal slice attack no matter what vocation.

    • slayveal says:

if you have the sterling’s whistle dont need to go bowhole for liquid metal slimes because they take ages to find. use the starlight express and go to this cliff place that you can only reach with the express just a bit above Angel Falls. Best place for all the metal hunting needs :D has metal slimes, liquid metal slimes the lot, except for king metal slimes =/ all you need is a BIT of patience but not alot compared to at bowhole

      • Bob says:

Well I’ll tell u one thing that’s not the best place to level up, grottos are but not just any grottos they have to be really high leveled ones to find the platinum king jewel slimes.that’s where I level up because they give u twice as much as a metal king slime so if I were u I would start treasure hunting (the maps to find them are usually 85-99)and if u think that’s all well ur wrong because u can get the best weapons in the treasure chests down there so it’s overall the best place to go.So I hope this will help u guys out :)

        • Retharen says:

Yeah when I wrote that I did not have sterlings whistle or any good high lvl grottos yet. I still don’t really have any good grottos. My highest is maybe 30 or 40. I am trying to get a high lvl one though. I just think that is the best way until maybe 50 cuz u don’t want to tackle high grottos like that low lvl even if u don’t plan fighting the boss.

  15. Bob says:

Is it possible to get deftness to 999 plz I can only get to 810 ,help?

    • Cheating,and Glitching says:

yes revocate 99 bla bla bla and i have a team revocated lots of time and we all have 999 of everything PS:you get free stuff when revocating and talking about deftness revocate ranger then get the ranger medal raises deftness

  16. RAMPARTIAN says:

pleez i need help. are there any abilities which can stop an enemy from running away?

  17. bsamsr18 says:

I already know that the answer is going to be no but i need to be sure cos it wud really help if i could. can you reset your skill points on all your skill trees or only one. i know it is going to be know i just wanna be sure

    • Mar Leaf says:

no but you can go back to lvl 1 once you reach the max lvl for a certain job so you can get as many skill points as you need

  18. Van Lynn says:

Well, while you’re here answering/getting angry by my interrogating questions, could you let me know if there and what are the rules to these guide’s posts? Like, am I allowed to talk about anything I want on this page, or should I go to the page regarding the topic, and if so, where do I post about Grottoes? Again, sorry for yet another dumb question. Heh.

    • noobbgodlike says:

You can start finding legacy bosses at legacy map like Baramos map(after that just keep beating baramos until you get other maps) which you can get from side quest (i forgot the number :( ). just try to search it. about posting a comment just try to post it in right section and if there is no section covering that topic just pot it in general section.

      • Van Lynn says:

Okay, thanks, and for future reference, the quest to get the Baramos Legacy Boss Map is Quest 62, where you have to . . .

(+) Check the bone inside small cave
(+) He will ask you to get piece of paper from salamarauder
(+) Grab ruionous shield from treasure chest before leave
(+) Now go to Twyll cave (L2) to find Salamarauder (L2)
(+) Kill it until you got Larst later
(+) Return to the cave and read the letter for the skeletons
(+) You will get Baramos Map Level 1

        . . . do that . . . which I am not feeling up to doing for a while. Gotta train mah partay . . . again . . . from level 1. -.-

  19. Van Lynn says:

Okay, so, assuming you do still check the Dragon Quest Nine comments now that you’re on Golden Sun, I has a question: I’m following your examples to the letter (I think . . .) and my team will be Paladin (Hero) for a Tank, Priest (Emma) for a Healer, Gladiator (Zogan) for a Physical Damage Dealer (PDD), and Sage (Kelsy) for Magical Damage Dealer (MDD). Now, I have all but the Luminary, which is eleven classes.
So, here is the actual question (sorry): If you training each vocation (except Sage and Luminary for some reason, even though Sage is easy to get . . .) to level twenty-four for each character, how are you getting six-hundred-and-twenty if you’re only using ten classes, and why didn’t you use eleven/twelve classes when eleven is pretty easy to get (Sage, not Luminary because you need to get into a high-level grotto to complete it . . . -.-)?
Also, is that a good setup for my party, because it seems impossible to get all that done . . . especially in thirty minutes, like you said. It has taken me over two hours (total gameplay time, not the four hours to plan this all out ahead of time . . . (including the two to do it)) just to get a few classes on two characters to level twenty-four. (Actually, I’ve gotten a few of their vocations to 30/33+ for a little extra skill points, since I don’t think ten classes to twenty-four will be enough for what you list. :\)
And yet another question: did you change every party member to a different class each time you reached level twenty-four, or did you keep a few on their high-level classes to train easier? I have Emma, a Priest, at level 73 and Kelsy, a Mage at the moment (‘Mage’ is spelled wrong? o.o), at level 71 while me, my Hero, Van, and Zogan train through each class. (By the way, when the Hell do I get high-level grottoes? >:\) I do this because Liquid Metal Slimes on Slime Hill spawn more often when there are high-leveled characters in the party, while Metal Slimes spawn for low-leveled characters. Do you even read what I type or do you just skim through and find the questions marks? Heh.
Well, I could probably think up a few more questions, but I’ll let you handle that mess first, since I asked, like, four or five questions in three paragraphs. He-he.

I hope you don’t mind my excessively long posts, but I could understand if you just didn’t even answer it, or even read it in the first place. Ha.
P.S. I noticed, in the Spellcaster frame, in the second bullet down, you said “. . . it [boosts] your MP and Healing Capabilities.” I think you meant Magical Might, since that skill tree doesn’t increase Magical Mending at all. Just letting you know, not to be a prick, or anything. Also, (Sorry . . . Lol) and this is the last thing, I think I should put this post up for longest post ever on the Dragon Quest Nine pages. It’s ridiculously long, and I apologize. Now scroll up and actually read it. :D

    • noobbgodlike says:

      1. the key thing is to train all your characters at the same time so they’re all at low level. It causes the metal slimes won’t run away and from my experience it also makes them appears more frequently. I have done it (my best times is about 20 minutes per 4 characters class[you train them at the same time, right?], yeah i really lucky at that time:D). It can reach 620 because:
      10 jobs x 52 skill points=520
your focused job at level 38 will grant you 100 so the total is 620, right ?? (CMIIW :D )

      2. yes it’s a good set up, I know that there are people who only use 3 gladiators (all of them are using uber falcon sword) and one priest to beat thigh level grotto boss.

      3. I change them only when leveling up i slime hill, in “real” area i switch them into their main job

      4. I read everything you write :D if I don’t answer it’s because i can’t answer it

      5. You can get high level grotto by keep defeating grotto bosses( the higher your party level the better quality grotto you’ll get, so it’s useless to keep defeating grotto boss if you’re at low level :D )

      6. next time please write in number format if you’re gonna ask a question:D

  20. Lunatixx17 says:

Wow nice guide i am probably late but why would you only take Uber falcon blade it takes all the interest from the game … Even if it does give you great dammage i see no point

  21. Zarachi says:

Look’s fast paced and confusing, but i guess a lot of games do and get simpler when u play ‘em. Haha, anyways i’ll look into it :P

  22. Zarachi says:

Me again! haha, i was just wonderin what weapon class you use for your characters, warrior, paladin, sage/priest, and gladiator? and if you can remember what weapon specifically! Thanks :)

    • noobbgodlike says:

      warrior use sword
      gladiator use claw
      paladin spear
sage /priest : haven’t put any in weapon class :D but I usually use staff or bow

      • Zarachi says:

OMG you reply fast! do i just catch you when your on luckily, or do you have a lot of free time? what swords claws, and spears?

        • Zarachi says:

          and staff/bow, im stupid :P

        • Zarachi says:

gladiator cant use claws? and well i dont have the 100 sp on claws so? what should i use then

        • noobbgodlike says:

Lol, I am creating a golden sun guide at this moment so you’re lucky that I can reply you fast :D (I don’t have that much of free time). Yeah I have 100 SP in claws because my gladiator was martial arts before I convert him into gladiator :D .
about sword I use uber falcon sword,
about spear and claw I have forgot :( (it’s not a rare claw and spear because I don’t play the game deeply, Buy the best claw and spear in Stornway post game shop)

        • Zarachi says:

Is it a good game? worth getting if i like dq ix? im im being a pest just tell me :P

        • noobbgodlike says:

yup, It’s a very good game in my opinion (better than DQ IX ). Golden sun have 2 game in GBA and both of them was a best game in GBA (RPG). It’s a RPG like golden sun, you can change your job, level up, etc. But you can’t distribute your skill point because you don’t gain any skill point :D . You can use summon monster, change your job, etc. The graphic s pretty awesome for a NDS game. You can watch my video in
          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gkWSqviwRw
you can see the battle system, djinn and summon system. I think you’ ll like it even you haven’t played previous game because you will hear a lot of story about the previous game :D

  23. pikabrian says:

Hi, umm, can you explain more into the part where you get your character to lvl 24? I have mine to 24, and i have 52 sp. but i dont get how you multiplied it by 10 to get 520. All my characters are lvl 24 in their class but lvl 1 in the rest.

    • noobbgodlike says:

you get 520 skill point because you train all your job (I use 10 jobs for an easy calculation) to level 24 (it’s very quick and easy if you already have an access to slime hill). Hope it helps you :D thanks for using my guide

  24. blue_ghost says:

    My Line up:
    Gladiator (Hero), Ranger, Warrior, Sage

    My gladiator has full guts,virtue,courage,focus

Ranger has full ruggedness, virtue, acquistiveness, alittle guts, courage and foucus for strength

my warrior has full courage, focus, virtue, and some guts

my sage has full enlightenment, spellcraft, faith, and virtue.

    all together a solid team

    levels 62-54

  25. NoobbDevillike says:

haha, umm, alright this may be a stupid question but ive seen what you wrote and stuff, and your probably just gonna say ive already explained this but what jobs do you use? what weapons and skills do your put the most sp into? and any extra tips woul.d be great THX

    • noobbgodlike says:

      my characters
      warrior, gladiator, paladin, sage/priest.
weapon uber falcon sword :D (it’s easy to get and really powerful). I am not leveling too much for this game my party level is about 59. I don’t have any extra tips sorry :( .
Thanks for using my guide :D

      • Zarachi says:

SORRY! im probably getting annoying but i just have another question. Alright i know i probably can’t get it atm but how do you get legendary armor? or Mythical armor? because to make mythical your need glorious and to make glorious you need victorious armour and to make victorious you need mythical armor. its like one big loop O.o

        • Zarachi says:

…1 more… why the uber falcon blade? does it have something special about it because the attack is only 26. and theres a lot of other stuff?

        • noobbgodlike says:

UBER falcon blade can attack twice per turn with normal attack. If you use it with falcon slash it will deal 4 hits to the enemy which is powerful because your atttack power simply multiplied by 4 (it is even more powerful in higher level because your attack status that you have gained from a level up multiplied by 4)

        • noobbgodlike says:

yeah it’s one big loop. if you have seen my alchemy section it’s said that you can get it from treasure chest in high level grotto.it’s one big loop because it may create a alchemiracle (strongest version) when you convert your equipment from the strongest to its 1st form (from those 3).

      • mitchtheminstrel says:

        my partay:

        mitch-minstrel-lv99

        grace-ma-lv99

        drake-sage-lv79

        12345-paladin-lv91

p.s. yes i know that 12345 is a weird name.

  26. Zarachi says:

How many times can i change my vocation?

  27. Zarachi says:

Hey, I just got the game while back and i just got to Master of Nu’un. When im done with him what job should i take up . I’m a minstrel, obviously, and warrior/Gladiator sounds perty fun. but you guys have been talking about rangers and sages. so i was just wondering for some tips on which job to take up. Thanks!

    • noobbgodlike says:

you still have a long way to become a sage. my recommendation is already written in this page. Those are my build (I don’t like ranger or any bow user except it’s come to MMORPG or action game) so i recommend you to become a gladiator, etc. Thank you very much for using my guide.

      • Zarachi says:

:) thanks for the quick repply. So i became a wairror and talked to the priest guy by the Inn in alltrades abbey, and he said i needed to kill 3 slimes with dragon slash while i have super-high tension? i looked through all my stuff and couldn’t find anything to raise my tesnion. Thank you so much help. Your Awesome :D

        • Zarachi says:

P.S. i ment to add in if you had any tips for how to raise tension, how to get this quest done easier, or if theres any alternate things to do. if you already answered my question just disregard this Thank you

        • noobbgodlike says:

see side quest section to get more info

        • mitchtheminstrel says:

get another sword user egg them on until tension gets to 100. kill.

p.s. make sword user 2 defend until tension is high.

2nd choice make MC martial artist till u get 16 points in focus that makes u get psece up. that raises your tension.

  28. ...just confused says:

*what should my fourth one be? And i meant vocations.

    • noobbgodlike says:

I recommend you to change your ranger into paladin or whatever ( Idon’t know about ranger and haven’t used it, so use it if you think it’s good) but Paladin can tank damage for your party (even he die easily in high level legacy boss with target spell except you have the uber equipment). :D

  29. ...just confused says:

ok so i’m changing all my characters vacations- in stages of course and i want to end up with a gladiator/warrior, a sage/mage, and a ranger. Are these good options? I like mixtures e.g one that focuses on attacking with weapons, one that cast spells and one that heals. What shou my fourth one be? I like having the best of the best. Any suggestions/corrections if my ideas aren’t good. By the way all my character are lv 30.

  30. Sum Guy says:

    What’s the 13 vocation

  31. DQ9 KING says:

What is the best type of weapon? Thanx

  32. burnsy says:

is there a vocation that allowes you to change your vocation anytime you like???

  33. poc says:

I have to say bg thanks to the “instructors” who giving out good-detailed guides.

But, I can’t find the DEFINITION the FIRST things I want to know:
    - What is vocations? Why should we switch classes? What points will be kept after switch classes, and what not?
    - What is the meaning of stats (deftness, M.mending…).

I just want to know BASIC MEANING so I can find my own strategy, feel and play the game with my own style. “Copy cat” must be the worst way to play a game.

Even that, I still have to say thanks so much, again. :)

    • noobbgodlike says:

vocation is a job in this game (if you have played game like diablo, final fantasy tactic, and other dragon quest series. You must know what vocation mean).
M mending: affect how much you healing power
M might: affect magical power (offensive)
Charm: affect probability of nemey being charmed by you
Deftness is kind like accuracy in this game (hit rate, steal success rate)
You should be able to understand what other statuses from their name. I fnot feel free to ask and I am happy to answer them (if I able ).
Thank you for using my guide

      • poc says:

        wow, how quick reply!

I know about the stats now. And great thanks for deftness -> steal rating, I love that much!
        (*) my steal-strategy is:
        - Find the wanted monster, kill all it’s ally (if have).
        - Minstrel use “Pratfall” to disable it’s attack.
        - Thief use “Half inch” to steal.
        - Others defend.
It helps me alot, for exam to steal “magic beast hide” from the big monkey-like monster near Alltrades Abbey.

VOCATION: I am very bad at english, and perhaps that’s why I still got questions about RE-Vocation after reading many guides. ^^

1- Is there any requirement to re-vocation? (level 99 required?, level skill of weapon/job, stat points). And any cost fee to revocation?

2- What stats and skills are kept after re-vocation?
Ex: my main char is a Minstrel lev 24, 22 Sword skill, 22 Litheness (minstrel job). If I revocation to Luminary, are the Sword skills and Litheness abilities kept?. 22 Litheness is “Natural charm +30″, is it kept after revocation?

3- Does “back to level 1″ mean that all the stats down, too? Says, strength down to ~5?

It’s happy to discuss with you, Godlike. I am playing the game now, if I found some new (if it’s really new) strategy then I will surely share with you.

        thank you! :)

        • noobbgodlike says:

Revocation need you to be level 99 (about money I don’t know because I haven’t revocated).
Only skill point keep (your sword atack +30 is kept). Your status will back to normal. Revocate is useful if you want to gain all skill for your characters.

        • John (DragQuester) says:

To what Godlike, just said about changing vocations at lvl 99. I can change at level 40….. Thats just wierd. Great Guild. My Sage going quite well.

        • noobbgodlike says:

changing vocations you can do at any any level, but Revocation only can be done when you reach level 99

  34. John (DragQuester) says:

What does ‘Oomph’ do? I’ve seen the name, but I don’t know, what it does.

  35. John (DragQuester) says:

Is there a spell, that you can do cast ‘Buff’ on the whole party (4 people).

  36. ??? says:

What is the fastest way to level up its taking ages for me to level up my priest and mage from lvl 1

  37. joseph says:

i started with 3 warriors now i have 1 a paladin 1 ranger and me. which is the best vocation gladiator or ranger

  38. Daisy says:

Hii! I’m changing my Minstrel to a Ranger, since they can both heal and Zing, but I can’t decide in taking Axe or Boomerang.

Axe looks cool and does nice single damage, but I already have full Sword skill, a paladin with a sword, and a martial artist who does nice damage.

Boomerang is nice since it hits a full group. I’ll be pretty usefull with the Boom spell and a quick kill against low enemy groups.

    • noobbgodlike says:

I suggest you to use sword on all your characters (except caster) because uber falcon sowrd is very easy to obtain and simply most powerful weapon for the game if your level is high (4 hit)

  39. Daisy says:

Could Luminary be considerd an upgraded Minsterel, like a Sage is an upgraded Mage?

  40. Daisy says:

As an Omnivocational Swordmaster (100 skillpoints) you can add a sword to each vocation. But do I recieve the Attack+ bonus if that vocation does not have the swordskill?

    • noobbgodlike says:

Yeah you still get bonus, because Atck+ xxx has a description; when you are using a sword, so it is still applied.

      • Daisy says:

I get that, but i’m talking about the Swordskill bonus. If i’m a sage with a sword, do I still recieve “+10/+20+30 attack with [sword]” bonus? If not than I don’t see why being Omnivocational is so special.

  41. Daisy says:

Could you explain what each attribute does? I know that Magical Might works for spells and Mending for healing. But what about resilience, deftness, charm and some others. Can you list them all please, it would help me a lot. ^^

      • Kam says:

resillience means defense, means how much damage that you will take when hit by monster

deftness means special techique sucess rate, means the chances that you can steal an item from a monster, chances that you can land a critial hit…etc

charm means the chances that you can lure a monster to look at you and not to attack in a battle.

        What else do you need?

  42. pato.7 says:

    Sorry for double post

Fullheal for priest at lvl 47

  43. pato.7 says:

By mage after skill blunt u get kaboom at lvl 47

  44. hougron says:

what is the best job for this game? is it luminary?

  45. ................ says:

What if paladin learns Feel the Burn so that when it uses Forbearance it gets high tension?

    • noobbgodlike says:

haven’t tried it, but it seems nice. You can’t use it on high level grotto boss though. Paladin is useless when he fight high level legacy bosses, it seems he will more likely to die after taking all the damage for party except you have right equipment and high level.

      • ................ says:

I haven’t tried it myself, but, I think it will work except for super hard grotto bosses. But obviously paladin needs to be high level and have right equipment. Can someone try that? I wanna see if it works for my paladin. Thx!

  46. Mithrae says:

What about buffers? What would you recommend for buffers? I’m making a minstrel with full Fource. What do you think?

    • noobbgodlike says:

I think there is a little use to buffers (Just my opinion). I am only use oomph, kabuff, and magic barrier. SO I really don’t know special path to create buffers. sorry I can’t help

  47. Rising_Revenge says:

Would the metal slime set of armor be the best for a paladain?

  50. XavierDisaster says:

I see that you forgot the Luminarie-sp-
Just pointing it out, im sure you know <_< and probably havent gotten to it yet.

They really interest me but i dont want to put time into training one until i see what they can do

    • XavierDisaster says:

Damn…I feel shitty for not being able to read -just saw taht you havent gotten it-

      • noobbgodlike says:

Yeah sorry, I will update it when I get it.

        • fechtinator says:

to get luminary, u have to go to the dance club in Gleeba. go over to the left side, near the girls makeup room and talk a girl named Applaudia. she tells u to go kill a moai minstrel with hot lick ability (minstrel path). go back and talk to her to unlock luminary.
