Fantasy Forest Story Pumpkin Farming Guide on Trick or Treat Event

The event is over now (4 November 2014)

Fantasy Forest Story Trick or Treat Event 2

On this event you need to gather Pumpkin. You can get pumpkins from

  • Hatching the animal from nest (the amount of pumpkin depends on the hatching time, 1 hour = 1 pumpkin, rarity doesn’t matter).
  • Harvesting food at your farms
  • Digging in the mine
  • Battling in Tournaments (lvl 17 +).
  • Buying a Cauldron (4 pumpkins/4 hours) or Great Cauldron (16 pumpkins/4 hours).  You get one free Cauldron at the beginning (after gathering 25 pumpkins).

Pumpkins from farm

Fantasy Forest Story Find Pumpkin

The amount of pumpkins obtained are based on how many hours those food’s time.

Example: 8 hours food will generate 8 pumpkins, 5 hours food will generates 5 pumpkins, and so on… BUT any food that less than 1 hour won’t generate pumpkin :).

Quality DOESN’T AFFECT THE OUTCOME. 5 hours of super food (the expensive one from Grand Farm) also generates 5 Pumpkins.

The event last for 21 days. I believe (and hope) you can finish this quest without using gems as long as you harvest the crops religiously.  I assume you already have maximum farms (6), from one farm I believe you can gather minimum 16 pumpkins/day ( 2 times 8 hours food) and more if you’re not lazy :).

That’s equal too

16 x 6 (total farms) x 21 (days) = 2016 pumpkins,

The maximum numbers of pumpkins via farms

24 (hours = pumpkin) x 6 (total farms) x 21 (days) = 3024 pumpkins

Don’t forget that there are cauldron and other sources too, which will help you obtain those pumpkins. However remember that the farms are the biggest source of pumpkins!!

REMEMBER, that you need to harvest pumpkins from the cauldron every 4 hours, the pumpkins won’t stack!!!

Pumpkins from Mining

Fantasy Forest Story Mining Pumpkin

You may get pumpkin (2) instead of coins/food (as a compliment reward for rune) while mining on the mine. The chance is not 100%, but quite high, so make sure you do it !!!

Got the dragon. I really hope the we get the yakolantern though. Doesnt look like it will happen.

  2. Harry says:

The speed of collective pumpkin collection has dropped significantly… Unlikely we are gonna see the Yak-o-Lantern unlock…

    • noobbgodlike says:

yup, it’s only 6 more days…. maybe they will make it available via breeding later? However, we can expect surge of pumpkins on last days (many people use gems to obtain skeletal dragon).

    • Ines Pay says:

I have kept a diary of the amount of community pumpkins (https://db.tt/AmaW8yhF) and I think the higher management slowed us down on purpose. You can see from the graph that from one day on the other the rate dropped very low! No way it’s because people collected their Skeletal and stopped, than we would have to have seen a gradual decline.

I think they got scared, that we would get the yak too soon (we would have gotten it on halloween if we continued like in the beginning) and would lose intrest after that.

      That’s what I think.

P.S. Why did I keep an excel sheet of the pumpkins? Because I wanted to know if we were going to get there.

      • noobbgodlike says:

Hi, it’s a nice thing what you have done here. I actually think the decline is the real process, why? I believe many players become lazier as the event progress (we human always excited by everything at the beginning and that interest become low and lower as the time progress). Because of that laziness many players can’t get the skeletal dragon (only few more days left and amny players only get vampire cat. This will make them lazier than before (what’s the point of collecting pumpkins if you still need 1000 pumpkins and there is only 5 days left?). I believe they will make the Yak available in some ways (another battle tournament, limited breeding chance, etc). Thanks for sharing your opinion on this site :). I believe they will make a similar event for thanksgiving (instead of pumpkins, we will get gift box??).

      • Sue says:

I watched the counts also did you notice ever 2 min last day it was putting in 200,000 to 150,000 well either way they had to award it because no yak equals less participation next time to early .. No one paying to get there… They gave it out with 20 min to spare … Really ?? Lol gotta love em!!!

  3. Ashley says:

I’m sad… I just did the math for the amount of pumpkins I’ll roughly have by the time the timer is up, and I’ll only have about 2900… I really want the skeleton dragon 🙁

    • noobbgodlike says:

It’s probably because you were lazy at the beginning of the event. I have already calculated that this event is really possible as long as you gather pumpkins diligently .

    • Kel says:

Breed, grow food, harvest the cauldron and play in the mine as often as possible! I earned the vampire cat yesterday and already have 150 more pumpkins. I might not make it, or may have to use some gems, but I’m gonna try.

  4. Sue says:

Woohoo we just got the haunted habitat now we have 9 days to get the yak at 320 mil
    So it’s very doable

  5. Franc says:

Does anyone have the vampire cat yet? just wondering how i am doing in comparison i currently have 1895 pumpkins.

  6. Yas says:

Hey you know you can get pumpkins from the 3 min power pears! Just not every time you harvest, you get pumpkins randomly. I needed food quickly so I spent half an hour on harvesting power pears and I got 6 pumpkins, from 4 farms, my other two were busy.

  7. Sue says:

This update is to say the least a little disappointing they didn’t fix exp points so you can’t level up for more habitats and the tourney is dumb no way a level 1 rhino should beat a level 15 rhino 1st battle I hope the rest get better but if it’s like breeding and they way they do on some of their other games they just give you whT they want not what you have earned getting a little tired of their philosophy …….

    • noobbgodlike says:

I believe it’s better to keep the level at 40 when they still don’t have anything new, what’s the point + 1 habitat if the land can’t hold them all. I agree about the battle system though. The only breeding games that implement the battle system nicely is monster legends and dragon city. On that game skill, status really matter, not simply luck…

  8. Zvoorheis says:

I found a method that works well for me:
-Wake up, plant Mystic Mangoes (8 hrs) on first bus to school (7:30)
-Get on bus back from school, immediately harvest Mangoes and plant Rune Prunes (20 hrs) in the afternoon (4:15)
    Next Day:
-Around lunch time (12:15) harvest the Prunes and plant more Prunes.
    Day After:
-Harvest on second bus ride to school (8:15) and repeat cycle.

This maximizes time and works personally into my schedule. I found this out late, so I may not reach the 3,300 pumpkins, but at least now I almost always have plants growing!

  9. Sue says:

If you do buy one of the giant cauldrons how many pumpkins do you get and how often anybody know??

  10. Tunę says:

Is anyone facing problems trying to connect to the game ?

    • Tim says:

I did earlier for over an hour. I finally left it alone and stopped trying for about 30 minutes and it starting working again. Don’t know if I just got lucky or what… Definitely hope it doesn’t happen again while we got a tournament going on.

    • SunshineLover06 says:

There is an update for the game, go to your app updates and download it.

  11. Tim says:

Finally got to 600 pumpkins and are eligible for the community prizes. I automatically got the tree of doom as the global total right now is slightly above 86million. We require 210,000,000 for the haunted hollow habitat. Hope we get there soon!

    • noobbgodlike says:

the number seems very high though T.T. I doubt we all able to get the last prize..

      • Tim says:

I’m hoping the third prize, the pumpkin patch, may be able to yield more pumpkins for us. I’m also hoping that the inevitable battle tournament will have some serious pumpkin prizes as well. If not, then I’d agree. I’d guess we need around 500,000,000 for the yak-o-lantern and at our current pace, it seems unlikely we’ll make it.

        • noobbgodlike says:

I think the pumpkin patch only a decorations (like tree of doom). IMO, the battle tournament won’t reward us with “serious” number of pumpkins. Probably about 2-5 pumpkins per battle.IMO, They have already calculated so skeletal dragon (3300 pumpkins) can only be obtained near the last day of the event (unless you use gems or buy lot of cauldrons).

        • Kel says:

I earned the pumpkin patch this morning and it’s just a decoration. The vampire cat is next at 2200 pumpkins.

    • Tunę says:

      We ain’t even half way

    • Kel says:

I made it to 600 too, it shows global is just over 89,000,000. We can do guys!!!

  12. Libby says:

Do you get pumpkins for animals that hatch unless than an hour, like pyro pony?

  13. Alicia says:

    Individual Prizes:

    Cauldron – 25 pumpkins
    Werewolf – rare – earth/nature – egg 13hrs – evolve 8hrs – 500 pumpkins
    Pumpkin Patch – 1,000 pumpkins
    Vampire Cat – super rare – earth/fire – egg 16hrs – evolve 13hrs – 2,200 pumpkins
    Skeletal Dragon – super rare – earth/fire – egg 17hrs – evolve 12hrs – 3,300 pumpkins

    Community Prizes:

Tree of Doom – 80,000,000 pumpkins
    Haunted Hollow habitat – 4 earth and/or fire animals – ??? pumpkins
    Yak-O-Lantern – super rare – earth/fire – egg 15hrs – evolve 12hrs – ??? pumpkins

  14. Skipper says:

For the third prize you need 1,000 pumpkins

  15. Hailey says:

Can you get pumpkins from the battleground levels (not battle tornament )

  16. Franc says:

Would it be better to just use the 24 hour food?

    • noobbgodlike says:

Huh? There are only 20 hours food right? Yeah, you can use that if you want, but the food yield is not good for 20 hours. I believe we still need food to level up our creatures to prepare on the next battle tournament (I believe will happen on the last week of this event).

      • Franc says:

well yeah 20 i guess. i mean wouldent you get 20 pumpkins each? It would also not require constant attention. To be honest i think the dragon wont be available unless you buy pumpkins. Speaking from dragon story experience.

        • noobbgodlike says:

Yeah, you will get 20 pumpkins, but like I said, I want to get the food too 20 hours food is not that good in terms of food obtained. After reading ALicia info, I believe skeletal dragon is very achievable (3300 Pumpkins), but if you miss a day then it’s probably unobtainable anymore.

  17. Sue says:

    How do you buy cauldrons?

  18. Skipper says:

Someone posted of the discussion form that you needed 2,200 pumpkins for the vampire cat not sure about the prize before it
